ACCOMMODATION
Ellipse Institute will help you obtain suitable accommodation but does not accept responsibility for it. We can refer you to a specialist accommodation agent. If you have any questions or problems about accommodation, please contact our General Manager or Administration Manager. There are four main kinds of accommodation available. Please look at the student handbook for details.
TRANSPORT SERVICES
Ellipse Institute maintains a fleet of buses and vans and provides transport services for students to and from classes and on Student outings. A weekly fee is charged for this service. It is currently priced at $50 per week. This is an additional cost.
ORIENTATION
During Orientation, an information pack will be made available. This includes:
- a list of emergency staff contact numbers
- maps of Auckland and New Zealand (international students)
- visitor information (inted rnational students)
- Student Handbook
- an introduction to New Zealand society, including information about the Treaty of Waitangi, the agreement signed in 1840 between Maori and the British government.
ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE SUPPORT
Additional help with English, literacy or numeracy is available. If this is needed we expect to discuss it with you when you enrol. But you are also welcome to discuss it with your tutor at any time.
INTERNAL SUPPORT
Requests for support can be made through the Managing Director or Administration Manager for:
- advice about anything to do with Ellipse Institute operations
- help and advice about any learning problem
- financial advice
- advice about and contact with welfare organisations in Auckland
- advice on Ellipse Institute procedures for dealing with grievances or complaints
- help with searching for and applying for a job (this includes providing a course completion certificate)
EXTERNAL SUPPORT
Ellipse provides a list of key welfare organisations in Auckland. Ask one of our management team to help you make contact with them.
